Tenerife gets almost 365 days of sunshine a year and has a stable warm temperature. So what can you do besides visit the normal places of interest? General amenities on the beaches include: showers, tap water as you come off the beach to wash the sand off your feet, rental sun beds and parasols. Because parking near most beaches can be a problem you will find lots of taxi ranks and bus stops close, especially during the busy seasons.

Tenerife beaches have a flag warning system on most of them. For your own safety please respect these warnings:

Green flag : Good conditions, suitable for swimming.
Yellow flag: Caution must be taken when swimming; this could be due to big waves, strong currents or strong undertows.
Red flag: Extreme caution must be taken. Swimming is not forbidden, but due to the bad sea conditions, it is not recommended. Never go into the water unless you know what you’re doing and you are a strong swimmer.
